On the morning of Monday 31st March 2008 while getting ready to go to work, Laura Jane Ashworth
started having a very bad asthma attack. While her mum Rachel Leake called 999 and tried desperately
to revive her, Laura's airways blocked and she stopped breathing. On arrival at Bradford Royal
Infirmary ICU, the doctors confirmed Lauras brain had been starved of oxygen for so long that she
was completely brain damaged. After 3 days on life support... there was nothing more they could do.
You were only allowed 3 people at your bedside at any one time but they couldn't control us...
no one dare tell us to go! The most important people in your life were all around your bed in ICU,
we held your hand, stroked your face, I so badly wanted to pluck your eyebrows, you would have been
gutted knowing everyone saw them like that LOL!!! We laughed until we cried and cried until we
laughed! yet we all knew... once we walked out of that door... we would never see you again.
To rub salt in the wound, organ transplant authorities refused to allow Laura's Kidneys and
Pancreas go to her sick mother, who has been suffering kidney failure since becoming pregnant with
Laura! Rachel attends St Lukes hospital to have dialysis 3 times a week. Laura's dying wish was
for her mother to have one of her kidneys... what a beautiful gift this would have been to a mother
who has just lost her only child in such tragic circumstances, for Rachel to know that part of Laura
was still living on inside her and for Macie to grow up with a healthy Grandma.
Laura was my best friend, she was my soul mate, she would have been my sister-in-law at one point...
and she was the loving mother to my Neice Macie Faith Murch. She lived at Brogden Hall Farm,
Bradford, with her beautiful mum Rachel, Grandfather Jack and 2year old daughter Macie. She was a
beautiful person, full of happiness and laughter, she didn't hate anyone, never had a bad word
to say about anyone, she loved her friends and would do anything for anyone but more so, she loved
her mother and daughter so very much.
Laura had only just turned 21 just 3 weeks prior to her death. She loved life and lived it to the
full. Her words of wisdom to everyone she met were "Live life to the full, you don't get a
second chance" how right was she!!! and she sure lived her life to the absolute fullest!!! I
just hope your looking down with no regrets girl!!! Macie loves you unconditionally, she will never
forget you, ever. Each night she stays with us we say goodnight and blow kisses to the stars. She
says Bob Marley is looking after you.

We are always thinking of you laura,we look farward to the weekends when macie comes,she is coming along realy well,she loves her daddy to pieces,and when she mentions you,i really feel it for her.I was working last night in peterborough,when angie called me ,she was upset,macie was laid in bed next to her and said,when is mummy coming home from heaven nana,i miss her,as she said it her little eyes filled up, and a tear ran down her cheek,i couldnt wait to get home to go in her room to sea her,it would be so great to tell her your coming home,i know her little face would be a picture,but i carnt,nobody can xxxxxx..GOD can so why doesnt he.?..we all miss you so much,A freind of mine came to join you last week he is called Chillo,he met macie on a few occassions,told him to look out for you,you will love him he's a great guy,but sorry laura he's gay......miss you lots....Allen xxxx

hello angel, hows it goin my dancing queen. so sori not spoke wiv ya in a long time, just been soooo busy, tryin to find a house so i cant get out ov that mad house am in at mo, drivin me up the wall.
Wel my cuz friend dies thurs nite, so will u plz luk after her, she was a lovely girl and luved to party so u wil get on sooo well, mad as you haha!
Wel we r goin campin for talia's bday soon, so ya beta be there wiv us. they keep changing it so i just sed to every1 when ya decided let me no haha, cant b bothered wiv all the messin around, lol.
Cant believe how fast a full year has gone, when you left us i cudnt believe it, i think abt ya al time ya no, neva wil 4get such a gud friend, we wil all keep ya spirit goin huni, anyway how cud we 4get you, u were the life and soul ov the party, plus you was my dancing queen. i sumtimes wear the top we wore 4 ya bday, let ppl no how much u meant 2 me, plus i luv that top makes me luk slim haha!!
Wel am just at college, wat a rubbish day the computers arent wrkin so we cant go on sage, every monday this happens, plus the sun is shinnin outside and am suck in doors when i cud b chillaxin in it. lol. bet ur chillin in this lovely weather, jammy bugger haha!!!
