On the morning of Monday 31st March 2008 while getting ready to go to work, Laura Jane Ashworth
started having a very bad asthma attack. While her mum Rachel Leake called 999 and tried desperately
to revive her, Laura's airways blocked and she stopped breathing. On arrival at Bradford Royal
Infirmary ICU, the doctors confirmed Lauras brain had been starved of oxygen for so long that she
was completely brain damaged. After 3 days on life support... there was nothing more they could do.
You were only allowed 3 people at your bedside at any one time but they couldn't control us...
no one dare tell us to go! The most important people in your life were all around your bed in ICU,
we held your hand, stroked your face, I so badly wanted to pluck your eyebrows, you would have been
gutted knowing everyone saw them like that LOL!!! We laughed until we cried and cried until we
laughed! yet we all knew... once we walked out of that door... we would never see you again.
To rub salt in the wound, organ transplant authorities refused to allow Laura's Kidneys and
Pancreas go to her sick mother, who has been suffering kidney failure since becoming pregnant with
Laura! Rachel attends St Lukes hospital to have dialysis 3 times a week. Laura's dying wish was
for her mother to have one of her kidneys... what a beautiful gift this would have been to a mother
who has just lost her only child in such tragic circumstances, for Rachel to know that part of Laura
was still living on inside her and for Macie to grow up with a healthy Grandma.
Laura was my best friend, she was my soul mate, she would have been my sister-in-law at one point...
and she was the loving mother to my Neice Macie Faith Murch. She lived at Brogden Hall Farm,
Bradford, with her beautiful mum Rachel, Grandfather Jack and 2year old daughter Macie. She was a
beautiful person, full of happiness and laughter, she didn't hate anyone, never had a bad word
to say about anyone, she loved her friends and would do anything for anyone but more so, she loved
her mother and daughter so very much.
Laura had only just turned 21 just 3 weeks prior to her death. She loved life and lived it to the
full. Her words of wisdom to everyone she met were "Live life to the full, you don't get a
second chance" how right was she!!! and she sure lived her life to the absolute fullest!!! I
just hope your looking down with no regrets girl!!! Macie loves you unconditionally, she will never
forget you, ever. Each night she stays with us we say goodnight and blow kisses to the stars. She
says Bob Marley is looking after you.

missing you
ho hony its gone so fast laura over 12mths yet it seams like yesterday when you left us lots as happend as you will be aware of. Been up there you'l see everything. why carnt things be straight forward in life macie misses you so much allen took her to nursery on monday and was a bit early she was telling him all the kids names and saying thats there mummy he said i wounder what she was thinking[probaly were's my mummy] she dont fully understand yet that you arnt coming home bless its the sadest thing ever.we never thought in a million years you would leave us so young on in your life. If only you could have grasped your breath you would be hear t'day im sure you once said to me that your life line was short but you dont take things on like that do ya i was going to see a medium but chickend out at last minute I want to go cos i'm curious [CURIOSITY KILLED THE CAT] ha ha but i didnt if you no wot i mean.I might do one day just becouse i'm that curious type of person. well i'l close now and chat later love ya lots lots angie macie allen xxx

hia hun sorry i aint spoke for awhile, well went 2 manchester last week 2 see razorlight it wo ace got in a right state missed last train home ad 2 get taxi back ad a rite laugh, finkin about goin again 4 day sesh, ive been abit borin lately aint been goin out as much i fink its aload of crap anyway when u do its a waste of money nobody seem 2 laugh anymore.

Please love my Angels that dwell with you above,
Please hug them for me tightly with your precious, tender love,

Please sing them lullabys as they lay down to sleep,
Please comfort them and just be there if they should ever weep.
Please let them know I love them all and wish I understood
The reason they're in Heaven, please tell them to be good.
Are fluffy clouds their pillows, to lay their heads at night?

And answer all the questions that a child can't understand?

Hi Laura we all miss you down hear and one day we'l meet again. Carnt wait to tell Macie more about you at the moment its still very hard for her she must think you are coming home soon she asked me last friday it was very sad i had to go out of the bedroon she said I LOVE MY MUMMY WHEN IS SHE COMING HOME FROM HEAVEN . in her little heart she thinks you are coming home soon its so sad to think you arnt she gets upset alot more we try to explain the best we can but she is only 3. you take care of her wont you laura send her lots love. she dosnt go without love as you will No" we miss you love you lots from us all. Its Riley's 1st birthday soon make sure the sun shines xxx
Happy Bank Holiday
Just thought I'd come on an say happy bank holiday. I have work at 3pm so will be setting off soon... may as well work, nothing else to do, plus I'll get paid double so why not eh... Macie is here, grandads just been to the park with her and Riley, she's brought some flowers back for nana so we've just put them in water and they're on the windowsill bless her.
Anyway, thought i'd just drop you a fw lines love.

HIya babes. Well... we've booked our holiday... remember last year when we were all booking Ibiza... you didn't make it did ya tho love. I know you will be with us tho Betty... we will take you with us don't you worry... make it nice and sunny for us... with you up there I'm sure we will have plenty of sunshine.
Macie asks for you lots lately love... sometimes I just don't know what to say back to her... when my mum told me last week that she asked when you were coming back from heaven it broke my heart... she just doesn't unerstand... how the bleeding heck do you tell a 3 year old that her mummy isn't ever coming back? you can't... you should see her drawings Lora... she is brilliant... she loves drawing and painting and making things, she is really artistic... must get that from me hehehe. Bless her... she is so intelligent... everyone says she is so like you in everu little way...
anyway love... gunna go and cause some trouble hahaha Have a good bank holiday babes... come to EMmas tonight if you want, we're gunna have a girly night in, Me Emma Carmel and Nic... feel free to join us... there's always a place for you Betty.
